Spinning my Dharma from forplay on 8tracks. It’s easy to come across a lot of injustice in New York City. 14th street during the day, and the L train on a weekend. Homeless dog owners, and the stench of 29th street on saturday morning. Lines at Shake Shack, and bouncers with blazers. I’m talking about bud lights at cocktail bars, and Car Bombs at Irish ones. But mostly I’m...

Beach House - Myth
Forplay’s anticipation post Beach House’s 2010 release, Teen Dream, took a couple of months to grow on me. Great for filling the emptiness of winter, long commutes, and unemployment, the album was on heavy rotation for the season. Wonder what their follow up album, Bloom, set to drop later this spring has to offer for warmer climates, contained commutes, and times of employment.

Kinnie The Explorer →
Forplay’s endorsement post The scant frequenters of this blog may have noticed Forplay’s taking to Kinnie the Explorer. It’s undeniable - recent analytics of the ipod’s ‘Most Played’ showed Kinnie in the top 10 - makes sense considering it is the only music that has been consistently repeated in the past few months. Check out the album in its entirety @...

Bad Bad Not Good
Forplay’s welcome to 2012 It’s 2012. People are revved up - squeezing into subway cars, scrambling to beat traffic lights - all in some race against 2 minutes into the future. Forplay is instead resolved to some electric relaxation. Sounds Like: El Michel’s Affair, Clutchy Hopkins, The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble Goodie Bag Bad Bad Not...

Preview: Portico Quartet's new album →
Gathering what one may from 30-60 seconds of previews: 1. Window Seat - seems like it might do what any intro would 2. Ruins - we all love that already 3. Spinner - sounds like it might heal the soul one day 4. Rubidium - Much like the namesake element’s application in thermoelectric generators - sounds like it might generate an electric current. 5. Export for Hot Climates - was...
