It’s safe to say that there isn’t enough Afrobeat music coming out of any corner of the world. Who da thunk that while I was digging through the archives to satisfy the ever so specific urge for funky jazzy reggae rock, I should have instead been checking out what’s new in iTunes Brazil.

In a conversation today, my Egyptian roommate thought it was creepy that I listened to this. While my musical taste has seen better days than terrible goaties, and orange hair, somewhere along the line that taste brought me to this. And with this in mind I always wonder whether I’d enjoy music better if I understood the language being sung in this.
But, sometimes the music is just spilling with emotion where you can feel pain like this. And you have to really listen to that, to understand this.
is a broad based music discovery vehicle for widely heard and unheard tracks. While the music selection is mood inspired, the accompanying commentary, which boasts no expertise, aims to identify some of the outstanding features of the tracks (in addition to the seemingly useless and random discussion of anything from pop culture to high-end denim).
