Ever feel like there’s a squid on your face?

Forplay’s life feels like a massive Chilled Afterhours sesh.
Ministry of Sound just hooked it up with 3 hours of chill. I’d say that’s well deserved for my hour and a half of cross-borough chores.

Floating Points - A Refresher

Vacuum Boogie//Floating Points
Floating Points, aka Sam Shepherd, tends to get lost in the swarm of fledgling post-dubstep producers and musicians coming out of the UK. However, Mr. Points has a style that should set him apart much more than he already is - one that brilliantly matches ingenuity with restraint. Most famously known for his reworking of Real to Reel’s ‘Love me like this,’ his remixes of Bonobo, and Four Tet are definitely worth a lot of listens as well
XLR8r has an awesome ‘City Guide’ podcast series that tries to capture the culture and life behind the music in various cities, and their most recent volume features Floating Points in his My Plastic People mix - to save the endangered North London club. The first half of the mix is a funky listen into Sam Shepherd’s expertise beyond the vast span of electronica, while the second half of the mix brings it a little closer to home.

Why I can’t enjoy American Football.

Plastic People//Four Tet
The fact that Daughtry is performing at the NFL Superbowl pre-game at the same time that I am listening to Four Tet’s There is love in You is only one of the reasons that I have neither an understanding nor a fondness for the sport. In my humble opinion it is a sissier version of Rugby and a dumber version of Futbol. Additionally, progression in periods of 10-second bursts of excitement is something that, well - something that I can do by myself. But I digress.
Back to Four Tet and how it is one of the best albums of the year so far. It is. Buy it, I did!
