How many mixologists does it take to serve a good cocktail?
DJ Jimi Needles is putting a whole new spin on mixology. Check out the rest of his Cocktail Blends below.
Forplay’s welcome to 2012
It’s 2012. People are revved up - squeezing into subway cars, scrambling to beat traffic lights - all in some race against 2 minutes into the future. Forplay is instead resolved to some electric relaxation.

Bad Bad Not Good (formerly The Odd Trio) - Electric Relaxation (Left-Click)
Gathering what one may from 30-60 seconds of previews:
1. Window Seat - seems like it might do what any intro would
2. Ruins - we all love that already
3. Spinner - sounds like it might heal the soul one day
4. Rubidium - Much like the namesake element’s application in thermoelectric generators - sounds like it might generate an electric current.
5. Export for Hot Climates - was actually to short to even assess.
6. Lacker Boo - Gimme more please
7. Steepless - Portico with Vocals!? Hmm..interesting
8. 4096 Colors -
9. City of Glass - Cliffhanger
10. Trace - the outro?

Forplay’s first sober saturday morning
It feels good to be able to wake up and actually do things.

A more sober minded man might wax poetic about the harmonies, melodies, and varying soundscapes in Portico Quartet’s latest single, Ruins, however I am happy just listening to it on repeat.
Departure of hang-ist Nick Mulvey had me worried as to what direction the band would take, but they’ve served up something tasty. I’ll be staying for the Entree.

This is where forplay comes to die when New York is Killing me
At first glance, I thought both the track and artist name (once I figured out the difference) looked like the spelling of an Icelandic Volcano. But any man - a better man, worth his Karjalanpiirakka could easily tell you that this little good is from Finland.

Haven’t really listened to much since getting my hands on Washed Out’s latest album, however have found myself skipping back to this track every so often.

When first listening to this song tonight, I thought relaxin’ with cherry might be like the first 2 minutes and 20 seconds of the track. As it turns out cherry had a little more lounge in her than expected.
This was more my vibe.

Varying doses of mucinex, day/nyquill, emergen-c, green tea, and old fashioneds haven’t helped remedy my current condition. To make it worse, according to WebMD I could have anything from laryngitis to cancer.
..Fucking all that off for a minute, and letting modern jazz help where modern medicine couldn’t.

For about a year and a half now my girlfriend has been searching for the perfect colored orange blazer. The fashion gods haven’t bestowed anything on the racks of any retailers south of 23rd street, but when they do, i’ll be ready with a song to capture the moment (that’s if she doesn’t break up with me before then for sharing her treasured fashion tips).

But, sometimes the music is just spilling with emotion where you can feel pain like this. And you have to really listen to that, to understand this.

Trumpeter, Christian Scott, has been heralded as “the Architect of a new commercially viable Jazz,” by Jazz Times.
With a splendid cover of something so familiar, who can deny the urge to delve further deep into constructs of Jazz.
